A chance to experiment with the limits of figurative painting using drawing media and waterbased paints ( watercolour, gouache,acrylic). You will be encouraged to examine the key elements of picture making with the intention of moving towards a more abstract interpretation of the landscape. The course combines painting and drawing out in the field with work back in the studio.
Terry Thompson, born in America, has lived and worked in Amsterdam for many years. He was a professional musician before switching to the visual arts. Trained in graphic arts, he began exhibiting in 1986. He has exhibited in the United States and Europe and his work is included in private, corporate and public collections. He recently curated an exhibition of contemporary Dutch drawing and is currently exhibiting at Sculpturenpark III in Rees, Germany, and at Galerie Clement in Amsterdam.
