Using the landscape as a theme, this week is about discovering a fresh and bold use of colour through the lessons we can learn from artists such as Bonnard, Seurat, Cezanne and others continuing through the 20th century. We will examine the development of their use of colour through our own painting practice - this is not an academic course, rather an exploration of our own working processes through other artists' eyes.
Although you will be primarily painting in oils or acrylics, we will also use inks and drawing materials in our coverage of preparatory studies. Looking at how other artists work, allows us to discover differing approaches to landscape, and materials.
